Winter Season at The BALSAMS Wilderness takes place between the Christmas holidays (mid-December opening) and early April. During the winter, individual guest parties and small groups enjoy a winter wonderland here in Dixville Notch. The BALSAMS provides guests with an on-site alpine skiing offering 16 trails on two slopes serviced by two triple chair lifts, a double chair lift and a surface lift, 5 gladed areas, snowboarding Terrain Park, and full-service base lodge; a 95 kilometer cross-country trail system; 33 km of designated snowshoe trails; ice-skating; a natural history program with guided tours; three rooms of live entertainment; plus, a variety of events to include lectures, games and contests, concerts, movies, and nightclub shows.
