Maid of Honor Checklist

Here's a cheat sheet listing all of the Maid of Honor duties:

  • Make sure all bridesmaids get their dresses, go to dress fittings, and find the right jewelry.

  • Keep bridal party informed of all parties, dates, etc.

  • Offer to help the bride with pre-wedding tasks like addressing invitations or making favors.

  • Inform friends and guests of where the bride and groom are registered.

  • Host or co-host a shower for the bride.

  • Attends all pre-wedding parties and keeps track of all gifts received during these events.

  • Plan the bachelorette party with the bridesmaids.

  • Make sure the bridal party gets to the rehearsal.

  • Helps the bride get dressed on the wedding day.

  • Make sure the bridal party gets their hair and makeup done, get to the ceremony on time and have the correct bouquets.

  • Offers moral support.

  • Hold the groom's ring during the ceremony.

  • Make sure that the bride's doesn't trip over her train during the ceremony, and help her pin or button it up (into a bustle) for the reception.

  • Arranges the veil before the ceremony and during photos.

  • Hold the bride's bouquet while the couple exchange vows.

  • Sign the marriage license as a witness, along with the best man.

  • Helps the bride change into her reception clothes, and takes charge of the wedding gown.

  • Toasts the couple at the reception.

  • Assists DJ with names when neccessary.
