Submitting your Announcement to the New Hampshire Union Leader

Hundreds of wedding and engagement announcements are submitted to the New Hampshire Sunday News each year. These are published without charge if received within our deadlines.

Some couples may prefer a paid Wedding Notice, which can include a color photo and additional detailed information. As always, there is no charge for traditional wedding and engagement announcements.

Forms

We ask that couples mail in our wedding and engagement forms, which can be obtained by clicking the word "Weddings" on the left side of the home pages of UnionLeader.com and NewHampshire.com. The forms are also available from local photographers or by calling the newspaper at 668-4321.

Weddings

Announcements must be submitted no more than six weeks after the ceremony. After six weeks, announcements will be abbreviated. After three months, those briefer announcements will be published without a photo. Ceremonies more than four months old will only be published as paid Wedding Notices.

Engagements

Announcements may be submitted until a month before the planned wedding date.

Photos

A clearly identified digital photo of the bride or the couple may be sent to weddings@unionleader.com. Photos should be sent as jpg attachments, 5x7 format, 200 dpi. As an option, a good-quality glossy print may be submitted with a wedding or engagement form. If suitable, photos will be published as a black and white image. Prints will be returned if a stamped, self-addressed envelope is supplied. Please include both names with all photos.

Wedding Notices

To allow couples to publish color photos and/or a more detailed description of their lives and marriage ceremony, the Sunday News and NewHampshire.com now offer a new option: Wedding Notices. These expanded keepsake announcements will be published in the newspaper and archived on the web site for friends and family anywhere. The basic charge is $100 for a two-column, two-inch-deep boxed notice, increasing by $25 per column inch. Please note: Pictures from a computer printer are not acceptable because they do not reproduce well.
