Ted 'Coach' Foster has been an impassioned golfer since his youth. A veteran of the New Hampshire State Amateur Golf Championship, Foster is highly active in the local golfing community. The former head coach of the Saint Anselm College Golf Team was named the Northeast - 10 Collegiate Coach of the Year in 1998. For the past 24 years, he has taught junior golfers how to play and respect the sport as director of Foster's Golf Camp.
1. Derryfield Country Club - Manchester - 18 Hole, Par 70
It has been my home course since high school and to this day my absolute favorite. With the new renovations it rivals any course and continues to produce some of the best golfers in the state. Challenging for all ages and abilities, great camaraderie, kid-friendly, and a great value. Take a walk on the moon!
2. Intervale Country Club - Manchester - 9 Hole, Par 36
This course can eat you alive! A favorite of mine for many years it is much more challenging than one would expect. Always in great condition and a friendly environment for all ages and levels of play.
3. Hidden Valley Golf Course - Derry - 18 Hole, Par 72 & 9 Hole, Par 27
Best kept secret - 18 challenging and engaging holes for players of all levels. Play the 9-hole course too and brush up on your short game. We bring our golf camp there and the kids love it. Who wouldn’t like 27 holes of golf?
4. Bolduc Park - Gilford - 9 Hole, Par 27
This course may appear to be a walk in the park, but don’t be fooled. Another beautiful par 3 in a comfortable setting and ideal for beginners right up to advanced players. Always in great condition. A Foster’s Golf Camp favorite for 24 years!
5. Brookstone Golf Course - Derry - 9 Holes, Par 27
This place has it all! One of the Foster’s Golf Camp courses, it’s a beautiful par 3 and perfect for beginners as well as intermediate players. Three sets of tees and water hazards. Driving range with great practice area that has a large green and two sand traps. Very kid-friendly.
6. Dustin Golf Course - Hopkinton - 9 Hole, Par 32
This was the course that my Dad and I would play many Sundays when I was a young boy. It was fun and that got me hooked…a good lesson. Super-friendly people.
7. Crotched Mountain Golf - Francestown - 18 Hole, Par 71
With the beautiful setting and the front 9 holes designed by the legendary Donald Ross it offers some very challenging holes. The back 9 nine, not as tough, will bring you back to wanting more – a nice test of golf.
8. Amherst Country Club - Amherst - 18 Hole, Par 72
A fair golf course that will reward you for a good shot, but if you’re looking for trouble there is plenty of that too! I coached Saint Anselm’s College golf team there for several years – great memories.
9. Shattuck Country Club - Jaffrey - 18 Hole, Par 71
This course will leave you breathless with the spectacular views of Mount Monadnock. The unique characteristics of each hole are the real deal – a course like no other. Several tee boxes to accommodate players of all abilities. You got game? Play the Shattuck!
10. Loudon Country Club Loudon, NH 18 hole, Par 72
The golf season is not complete without a round or two at Loudon. A challenging yet playable course in a quiet setting, it is the perfect spot to contemplate your game. A favorite, hole 1, is a par 4 with slight dogleg to the right. Just short of the green is a small cemetery surrounded by a stonewall. Drive your ball into the cemetery and you must take relief – do not disturb!
