HOOKSETT — Police say a 9-year-old child suffered non-life threatening injuries Sunday night after being struck by a station wagon driven by a Manchester man.

According to Hooksett police Sgt. David Scarpino, at 6:38 p.m. Sunday Hooksett police were dispatched to the area of 1130 Hooksett Road to investigate a report of a motor vehicle versus pedestrian accident.

According to police, a 2005 Volvo SW XC70 station wagon driven by a 78-year- old Manchester man was traveling north on Hooksett Road when a child ran out into the road and was hit by the vehicle.

The child was transported to the Elliot Hospital by Hooksett Fire and Rescue with non-life threatening injuries.

According to police, the driver of the Volvo — whose name was not released Sunday night — is cooperating fully with the investigation, and police do not believe speed or alcohol were factors in the crash.
