March 19. 2018 2:40AM

TWIN MOUNTAIN — Two Massachusetts girls were injured in separate snowmobiling accidents in the White Mountains, the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department said.

Erin McKeon, 16, of Charlton, Mass., struck a tree while attempting a turn on a trail near Twin Mountain around 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Fish and Game said in a news release Saturday night.

McKeon was riding with both her father and brother at the time of the crash and her family transported her from the scene back to their vehicle after determining she did not require medical attention, according to the news release.

Investigators believe inexperience likely contributed to the crash, the news release said.

In Stark, an 11-year-old girl crashed a snowmobile on Nash Stream Road around 10 a.m. Saturday, Fish and Game said.

Madison Lutz, 11, of Danvers, Mass., struck a tree when she lost control of a snowmobile while negotiating a turn around 10 a.m. Saturday, Fish and Game said in a news release. The girl was taken to Weeks Medical Center in Lancaster for further evaluation and treatment, according to the news release.
