Passenger injured in Dixville ATV crash

September 11. 2017 9:35AM

DIXVILLE - A passenger on an all-terrain vehicle was injured in a crash on a trail, the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department said.

David Szymkiewicz, 62, of Bradford, was relayed by people he was riding with to a staging area, where an ambulance took him to Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital in Colebrook for treatment of non-life threatening injuries Sunday around 11:45 a.m., Fish and Game said in a release.

Szymkiewicz was a passenger on the vehicle, which left the trail and crashed into a tree in a drainage ditch, Fish and Game said. The driver of the vehicle was not injured.

Although he was not wearing a helmet, Fish and Game said Szymkiewicz was wearing a seat belt, which likely prevented more serious injuries.
