When Democratic candidate for governor Molly Kelly visited the Red Arrow Diner in Manchester Wednesday morning, the scene inadvertently recreated one depicted in an iconic photo from the 2016 presidential primary campaign, with Linda Philibert of Manchester, at rear to the right of a cash register, once again calmly sitting amid a gaggle of political reporters. (DAVID LANE/UNION LEADER)

MANCHESTER — Linda Philibert was unfazed on that day in 2016, when a gaggle of reporters crowded around the counter where she sat in Blake’s Restaurant.

In an iconic photograph that quickly spread across the internet, Philibert seemed far more concerned with her breakfast than then-Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina, who was in the diner to court voters.

On Wednesday, it was much the same.

As former state Sen. Molly Kelly made her rounds at the Red Arrow Diner, a day after her win in the primary, Philibert again sat casually at the counter, focused on her meal.

This iconic photo by reporter Pat Grossmith of Linda Philibert of Manchester, who was more interested in finishing her breakfast than the presence of former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina's presidential primary campaign stop at Blake's in Manchester, became the subject of a skit by comedian Stephen Colbert and internet memes.
