SALEM — Fish and Game officials said a 13-year-old’s all-terrain vehicle went through the ice on Arlington Mill Reservoir about 4 p.m. Monday.

Conservation Officer Shawn MacFadzen said the boy failed to see a small opening in the ice and drove the ATV to open water that was about 7 to 8 feet deep.

He then stood on the vehicle to push himself up onto the ice. He was able to walk to a nearby house to warm up until emergency personnel arrived.

The teen suffered non-life-threatening injuries, officials said in a news release.
