Origin:
Once a part of Landaff known as Eastern Landaff, the town's name seems to be a corruption of the word "Eastern" and it was incorporated as Easton. Asa Kinsman was a pioneer settler of the town, and it is for him that Mount Kinsman, the Kinsman Range, and Kinsman Notch are named.

More about Easton:
Easton, part of the Franconia Notch area, is just a stone's throw from the former site of the Old Man in the Mountain.
