Jenny Thompson

Jenny Thompson was born on February 26, 1973 in Danvers, Mass. Jenny began swimming while living in Massachusetts when she joined the YMCA and become serious about the sport after joining Seacoast Swimming in Dover, NH at the age of 12. Jenny resides in Menlo, New York and is attending medical school at Columbia University.

Highlights of Jenny's career:
With five relay gold medals from 1992 and 1996 Olympic Games, Jenny Thompson is one of the most successful female Olympic athletes in history. A Stanford graduate, she is attending Medical School at Columbia University.

Major Awards:

  • Female Swimmer of the Meet, World Short course Championships, Hong Kong, 1999.
  • Female Swimmer of the Meet, Pan Pacific Championships, Sydney, 1999
  • During college, Thompson won 19 NCAA titles, the most in women's collegiate swimming history.
