Portrait wars: Dudley painting languishes at Statehouse

Dudley Dudley at a 1970s Executive Council meeting. Elected in 1976, the Durham Democrat served four terms on the council. 

The artist, Alastair Dacey of Portsmouth, was commissioned for the project later that year. The portrait was unveiled at the Statehouse in December 2016, but according to Volinsky, was never hung.
