DEERFIELD — Both the town’s police and fire departments are looking for "Zippy," who resembles a life-sized version of Elf on the Shelf.

Members of Deerfield’s Rescue Squad move the mannequin around town during the holiday season, asking residents to share pictures of his whereabouts on their Facebook page.

Zippy was last seen sitting in a folding chair outside Veasey Park.

He was reported missing on Monday.

“This is not a joke or a game; we are very upset about someone choosing to ruin the fun for Deerfield’s children,” the Deerfield Rescue Squad wrote in a Facebook post Monday afternoon.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Deerfield Police at 463-7258, or the Deerfield Rescue Squad at 463-7721.
