Name and date established: Hampton Falls 1978

Description: On his way to Portsmouth after entering New Hampshire on Saturday, October 31, 1798, President Washington accompanied by a splendid procession of the military and state dignitaries, halted for a short time here in Hampton Falls. He greeted and shook hands with a number of soldiers of the Revolution.

Location: Located in Hampton Falls village on a triangular plot at the intersection of Route 84 and the Lafayette Highway, or Route 1.
