PELHAM — A heated argument over plowed snow on Ballard Road turned violent and resulted in the arrest of two men Wednesday afternoon, police said.

The fight broke out while Issam Mousa, 54, was plowing his own driveway in the middle of the snowstorm about 4:15 p.m.

According to police, Eric Chojnacki, 57, started to strike the driver’s-side door of Mousa’s truck with an axe.

Sgt. Stephen Toom said an investigation determined that Chojnacki accused Mousa of plowing snow into his yard.

Police said Mousa got out of the truck and a loud, verbal argument became physical.

Chojnacki was charged with felony-level criminal threatening with a deadly weapon.

He was released on $2,500 personal recognizance bail Wednesday and faces arraignment Feb. 22 at the Hillsborough County Superior Court in Nashua.

Police charged Mousa with a Class B misdemeanor offense of simple assault; his arraignment is set for March 5.

“We hear of reports of snow from one yard being plowed into another, but it’s unusual for it to rise to the level of a deadly weapon,” Toom said.
