TILTON — Police arrested a Massachusetts man Sunday who allegedly fled the Tanger Outlet Mall after a 12-year-old girl's mother confronted him for peering over a changing room wall at her daughter.

“The male physically pushed the mother out of the way and fled from the store, in a red Toyota with Rhode Island license plate,” police said in a news release.

Eric S. Muldowney, 30, of Somerville was charged with violation of privacy and simple assault.

Police said they received a call from the Gap Outlet Sunday after a man was confronted while trying to leave the store's changing room area.

Cpl. Bryan Keeler was on Laconia Road near Interstate 93 responding to the call when he saw a man driving a vehicle that matched the description given to police.

The vehicle was stopped and Muldowney was arrested.

He was released on $6,000 personal recognizance bail and given a court date of Aug. 20 at the 6th Circuit Franklin District Court.

The Tilton Police Department is requesting anyone with information about the incident to contact them at 603-286-8207.
