NYC woman accused of stabbing Portsmouth hotel worker multiple times with scissors

PORTSMOUTH — A woman from New York City was charged with attempted murder Friday after she stabbed a housekeeper at the Sheraton Hotel multiple times with a pair of scissors.

Jasmine Henderson, 32, of the Bronx, is charged with attempted second-degree murder, criminal threatening and second-degree assault. All of the charges are felony-level offenses.

Police were called to the hotel on Market Street around 9 a.m. When responding officers arrived at the scene they found Henderson in the lobby and she was arrested.

Henderson’s alleged victim, a 58-year-old housekeeper, was stabbed in the face, neck and chest area before she was able to flee. The woman was transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital for treatment.

Henderson was transported to Rockingham County Jail where she will stay until she is arraigned via video at Rockingham County Superior Court in Brentwood Monday.
