MANCHESTER — A city man is facing theft charges after police say he stole a woman's purse off a table outside a Queen City bar Sunday night.

According to Sgt. Robert Gravelle, officers responded to Ignite Bar and Grill, 100 Hanover St. around 6:25 p.m. to investigate a report of a woman's clutch purse being stolen from an outside table by a man wearing an orange shirt. According to police, the man took off running and was last seen headed toward Victory Park.

Officers began searching the area, and located a man matching the description of the thief behind Firefly at 22 Concord St. According to police, officers noticed the man — identified as Jonathan Soto, 26, of Manchester — was out of breath. The victim's clutch purse was also located nearby.

Soto was arrested without incident, charged with Class A felony theft.

Due to the quick arrest, all of the victim's property was returned to her, Gravelle said.
