Experience beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee from the decks of the M/S Mount Washington.
One of the most beautiful scenic cruises in New England. Daytime cruises depart from various ports including Weirs Beach, Wolfeboro, Alton Bay, Center Harbor, and Meredith. In the evening, this 230-foot excursion ship becomes a floating restaurant/nightclub, offering a delicious buffet dinner and dancing to live music. Cruises from late May to late October.
The Motorship Mount Washington has a long history dating back to the Steamship Mount Washington, a sidewheeler, launched in Aton Bay in 1872. The wooden sidewheeler burned at her dock in Weirs Beach in 1939.
Today's Mount Washington, started her career on Vermont's Lake Champlain under the name "Chateauguay." Purchased by the Winnipesaukee Steamship Company in 1940, she was transported in twenty sections via rail, reassembled, re-outfitted, and christened the Mount Washington II. In 1983 she was cut in half and lengthened by 25 feet earning the designation Motorship and boosting 4 decks, 3 dance floors and a capacity of 1250 passengers. In addition to operating the 'Mount', the Winnipesaukee Flagship Corporation also owns and operates the 74' U.S. Mail Boat Sophie C., and 68' Doris E. Both vessels offer scenic lake cruises in July and August from Weirs Beach.
