Charlestown Main Street Historic District

The Charlestown Main Street Historic District consists of the section of Main Street along which the town center of Charlestown developed and thrived beginning in the late 18th century. The district contains 62 primary structures with their associated outbuildings, streetscape objects, various memorials and monuments.
Most of buildings were constructed prior to 1940, with at least ten buildings predating 1800. Their styles range from Greek Revival to Federal and include churches, gas stations, the Charlestown Inn, homes and barns, a firehouse and many other structures.
