Description: This outstanding teacher and author of mathematical textbooks widely used in schools and colleges was born in North Wakefield. He was graduated from Harvard College in 1858 after attending Wakefield Academy and Phillips Exeter Academy and taught at the latter school for 33 years.

Location: Located in North Wakefield on the east side of NH 16, .4 mile south of the Ossipee-Wakefield town line.
