Name and date established: Concord 1971
Description: Fourteenth President of the United States (1853 to 1857). Lies buried in nearby Minot enclosure. Native son of New Hampshire, graduate of Bowdoin College, lawyer, effective political leader, Congressman and U.S. Senator, Mexican War veteran, courageous advocate of State's Rights, he was popularly know as "Young Hickory of the Granite Hills." This marker was erected in cooperation with the city of Concord.
Location: Located in front of the Old North Cemetery, near the intersection of North State Street and Keane Avenue, in the northern end of downtown Concord.
