NH Foliage drives - A Massabesic circle
Take Exit 1 from Route 101 in Auburn, and head south to the Massabesic Traffic Circle, where you take the second right onto the Route 28 Bypass.
In about two miles, look for a left turn to the Masabesic Audubon Center, where interpretive walking trails trace the natural and agricultural history of the region and lead to some spectacular views of the lake and nesting ospreys.
Back on the bypass, turn left onto Wilson's Crossing Road just after Turnpike Pizza, 4.5 miles from the traffic circle. This road intersects with Route 121, on which you'll head south to the center of Chester.Route 121. Take a right on Route 121 and head south towards Chester.Just before entering Chester town center a farmstand on the left sellsflowers, pumpkins and other gourds.
After passing Chester College on your left, Route 121 will intersectwith Route 102 in the center of Chester, one of the prettiest autumn spots in the region. Head north on 102, but for only eight-tenths of a mile. turning left onto North Pond Road to loop back to 121 via Candia Road.
Stay on 121 for the return trip along the eastern shore of Lake Massabesic, through the village of Auburn, returning to the traffic circle at the end of a picturesque 22-mile loop.
