NH Foliage Great North Woods Region
New Hampshire is one of the best places in the world to witness the brilliant crimsons and golds of fall. To help visitors decide when to take a tour of the countryside, NewHampshire.com will publish weekly updates on how the fall colors are progressing during the fall foliage season.
Best time to see foliage?
The foliage peaks at different times in different parts of the state. Generally, the best times to view the fall colors are near the end of September in the far north, the beginning of October in the White Mountain region, and the middle of October in the south.

The Great North Woods is now alive with color. We are getting close to peak here with vibrant and stunning colors nearly everywhere you look. Come to the north country this weekend and take a drive starting in Berlin and head north on Route 16 to Errol and then West on Route 26 into Dixville Notch. As usual, no matter where you look it will be spectacular. Just be careful and brake for moose!
