New Hampshire is one of the best places in the world to witness the brilliant crimsons and golds of fall. To help visitors decide when to take a tour of the countryside, NewHampshire.com will publish weekly updates on how the fall colors are progressing during the fall foliage season.
Best time to see foliage?
The foliage peaks at different times in different parts of the state. Generally, the best times to view the fall colors are near the end of September in the far north, the beginning of October in the White Mountain region, and the middle of October in the south.

The Lakes Region is now experiencing near peak foliage conditions. There are many swatches of color throughout this already scenic region, but the winding backroads offer up some of the beauty. Near the water you'll see the reflection of the myriad of colors on the trees. For a ride, we recommend 28 North from Wolfeboro to Ossipee.
