New Hampshire is one of the best places in the world to witness the brilliant crimsons and golds of fall. To help visitors decide when to take a tour of the countryside, NewHampshire.com will publish weekly updates on how the fall colors are progressing during the fall foliage season.

Best time to see foliage?

The foliage peaks at different times in different parts of the state. Generally, the best times to view the fall colors are near the end of September in the far north, the beginning of October in the White Mountain region, and the middle of October in the south.

The Monadnock Region is now past peak but that doesn't mean that you can't still enjoy the scenes. By day, make your way to several covered bridges in the region and by night, spend "An Evening with Kathy Mattea," an award-winning country music singer and songwriter, at the Colonial Theatre in Keene.
