New Hampshire is one of the best places in the world to witness the brilliant crimsons and golds of fall. To help visitors decide when to take a tour of the countryside, NewHampshire.com will publish weekly updates on how the fall colors are progressing during the fall foliage season.
When is foliage at its best?
The foliage peaks at different times in different parts of the state. Generally, the best times to view the fall colors are near the end of September in the far north, the beginning of October in the White Mountain region, and the middle of October in the south. Updated October 21, 2016 The White Mountains are as beautiful as ever but they are starting to drop their leaves, a sign that it won't be long now before they are bare (and past peak). It's still a nice time to wander about the White Mountains and see the sharp contrasts of color in the region.
