William Demers

New assistant principal hired for MVMS in Goffstown

William Demers will be the new assistant principal of Mountain View Middle School beginning July 1.

Appointed by the Goffstown School Board on June 4, Demers will fill the vacancy left by Joe Lane, who was hired as principal of Moultonborough Academy last month.

Demers was hired as an eighth-grade Language Arts teacher in the Bedford School District in 2004.

During his nine years there he was an active member of the school community, coaching several school sports teams and serving as an adviser for several intramural activities. Additionally, he volunteered time to the Bedford Bobcats Special Olympics program.

In 2008, Demers was named, and still serves as, the athletic director at the Ross A. Lurgio Middle School in Bedford.

In 2014, Demers was promoted to assistant principal and athletic director.

He earned a master’s in education administration through the University of New Hampshire and is a certified athletic director through the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association.

“The Mountain View community is excited to welcome Bill Demers to our team,” MVMS Principal Wendy Hastings said. “It was evident through the interview process Mr. Demers brings a wealth of knowledge and passion from his past educational experiences at the middle school level. We look forward to working with Bill as a key member of our administrative team to serve the families of Goffstown and New Boston.”
