NHIAA Division III Track: White Mountains girls, Campbell boys champs

Campbell of Litchfield's boys and White Mountains of Whitefield's girls won the Division III team track championships Saturday at Winnisquam Regional High School in Tilton.

The Cougars' 71 points edged Inter-Lakes of Meredith (64). Belmont was third, with 50 points.

Jeffrey Allen had a first-place in the 1,600 meters, finishing in 4 minutes, 26.17 seconds, and a second in the 800 meters (2:01.96) for Campbell. Luke Hogan placed second in the 400 meters (52.20 seconds) and third in the triple jump (40 feet, 5 inches), and Spencer Snell was second in the javelin (155 feet, 3 inches) and third in the discus (131 feet, 4 inches).

The title was Campbell's first boys' crown since 2010.

Portsmouth Christian's Fiston Kapongo rang up two first-place finishes: 15.56 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles and 41.73 seconds in the 300-meter hurdles.

Peter Thibeault of New- port had two first-place finishes: in the shot put (46 feet, 6.5 inches) and discus (147 feet, 2 inches), and Belmont's Hunter Dupuis had firsts in the 200 meters (22.87) and the 100 meters (11.61)

White Mountains notched 50 points, outscoring Gilford (50) and Campbell (49.5) in the top three spots.

Grace Gensamer and Sadie Bushway finished 1-2 in the discus throw, and Bushway took third in the shot put for White Mountains. Taima Romish notched a first place in the 100 meters for the Spartans, who won their first title since 2012.

Mya Dube of Kearsarge earned two wins: in the 1,600 meters (5:30.65) and the 3,200 (11:22.85). Campbell freshman Tori Allen also had two wins: in the 300-meter hurdles (48.69) and the high jump (4 feet, 10 inches). Allen also had a second in the 100-meter hurdles (16.80).

Conant of Jaffrey's Abigail Drew landed two firsts: in the 100-meter dash (13.25) and the long jump (16 feet, 2.25 inches)
