NEWBURY — Find striking visions of the “Art in Nature” when a sculpture exhibit opens to the public Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Fells Historic Estate and Gardens, 456 103A.
The outdoor showcase will feature 35 works by more than two dozen local and regional artists.
Members and friends of the historic site — a restored and preserved Lake Sunapee estate of statesman John Hay — will get a sneak peek at 5 p.m. Friday. The exhibit will remain on view through Oct. 8.
A formal unveiling program is scheduled for June 24, when visitors can strolls the gardens, learn about the history of the Hay family and the estate, and enjoy a wine bar and hors d-oeuvres, and listen to some music by the Michael Parker Jazz Ensemble. Cost to this event is $50.
When the main house is open, regular admission is $10 for adults, with reduced fees for students and senior citizens ($8) and youth ages 6 to 17 ($4). There is no fee for children 5 and under, or for both active military and veterans. Families of two adults and 2 or more children (6 and older) can get in for $25.
