NHIAA Roundup: Teresky lifts Astros over Mass. power

In a showdown of state powers, Chad Teresky scored the game-winning goal off an assist from Tom Sweeney with 1:46 remaining, breaking a tie and lifting the Pinkerton Academy of Derry boys’ lacrosse team to a 14-13 triumph over Lincoln-Sudbury in Sudbury, Mass., on Tuesday.

Teresky finished with four goals and three assists while Sweeney had five helpers for the Astros (15-2). Ryan Auger and Mason Drouin both logged three goals and Owen McCormack scored twice for Pinkerton. Auger also tallied three assists while Drouin had one. Astros goalie Alex Sturgess made 15 saves.

Lincoln-Sudbury was ranked sixth in the latest Massachusetts poll conducted by The Boston Globe.

Pelham 17, Milford 6: At Pelham, Gavin Urda led Milford with three goals. Matt Hannon added a pair and Cam O’Shaughnessy chipped in with one. Milford dropped to 7-6 while Pelham improved to 10-1.

Merrimack Valley 19, John Stark 13: In Weare, John Stark rallied from an eight-goal deficit to tie the game at 12 in the third quarter, but couldn’t keep the momentum. Kayden Easter scored four goals while Parker McQuarrie, Jack Baumann and Aiden Moser each had two apiece. Noah Chapman was strong on faceoffs for Generals (5-9). MV is 10-3.

Goffstown 14, Memorial 3: In Goffstown, the Grizzlies (11-3) scored eight times in the first quarter and never looked back. Cam Chouinard scored three goals, Konnaugh Donovan added two goals and one assist, John Erwin and Eric Dubois scored twice and Nick Mason, Jack Mappus, Griffin Cook and Devin Young added a goal each for Goffstown and Austin Taylor had a goal and assist. Erwin was 6-for-9 on faceoffs and Mappus was 4-for-4.

Nashua South 18, Nashua North 4: In Nashua, Devin Linscott scored seven goals, including the 100th of his career, for South (9-8). Sean Holland had a hat trick and and assist while Tyler Bernard and Jaden Murphy both scored twice for the Purple Panthers. Troy Bottari hat a hat trick and Sean Verigan scored once for North (2-12).

Trinity 5, Gilford 4: In Gilford, the Pioneers led by three with five minutes left before holding off the hosts. Ryan and Mike Etzo had two goals and one assist apiece, Dillon Brown added a goal for Trinity (7-5). Ethan Messner starred in goal, stopping 14 of 18 shots. Gilford dropped to 5-7.

Pinkerton 19, Manchester Central 4: In Manchester on Monday, Chad Teresky scored four goals and added three assists for the Astros (14-2). Owen McCormack, Mason Barbone and Christian Dell’Orfano added three each, and Ryan Auger, Tom Sweeney, Hunter Drouin, Jackson Morrissette, Jeff Potvin and Connor McCormack also scored for Pinkerton. Sam Hebert, Alex Hawkom and TJ Pacheco scored for Central (2-12).

Nashua South 15, Concord 6: In Concord on Monday, Jaden Murphy scored five times while Sean Holland and Devin Linscott each had a hat trick for Nashua South. Holland also added four assists. Nate Radin made six saves for the Purple Panthers. Concord fell to 3-12.

Girls’ lacrosse

Londonderry 9, Nashua South 5: In Londonderry, the Lancers improved to 6-10 thanks to Catie Derhak’s hat trick. Allie Marsh and Kaitlyn Nartiff added two goals each, and Maddy Walden and Jenna Stowell also scored. Londonderry goalie Hannah Paradis stopped eight shots.

South (7-8) received a seven-save effort from Abbey Rowe. Bailey Morin had two goals, Liz Harrington had a goal and an assist and Laura Galvez and Sarah Signorello each had a goal for the Panthers.

Baseball

Nashua South 8, Trinity 7 (11 inn.): In Manchester, Nashua South scored the game-winning run on an RBI single in the top of the 11th inning to win a game that was suspended due to darkness earlier in the season.

Alex Amigo had four hits and two runs scored and Seth Marcano had three hits and an RBI for the Purple Panthers (9-9).

Cam Tomko logged three hits and Foster Stacey had two hits and two RBIs for Trinity (3-14).

Goffstown 8, Bow 3: In Goffstown, the Grizzlies scored eight runs in the fifth inning for a second straight day to overcome a 3-0 deficit.

In the sixth, Connor Hujsak had two doubles, Clay Campbell had two hits, and Tyler Santoro cracked a two-run homer.

Derek Steckowych and Campbell also had RBI hits in the inning.

Mitch Scacchi earned the win for Goffstown (14-3), pitching six inning. Connor Blandini has a two hits, including a home run for Bow (10-5).

Hopkinton 4, Wilton-Lyndeborough 3: In Wilton, Colby Marshall earned the win, striking out seven for Hopkinton. Dustin Rose went 3-for-3 for the Hawks (10-5). Wilton-Lyndeborough fell to 13-2.
