NHIAA Roundup: Memorial sweeps city track meet

The Manchester Memorial track and field teams swept the Manchester City Meet on Thursday at Chabot-McDonough Field.

The Crusaders boys won with a score of 149 points. Central (54) finished runner-up, Trinity (53) took third and West (10) finished fourth.

The Memorial girls posted a score of 142 to earn the win. Central (71) took second, West (43) finished third and Trinity (four) placed fourth.

West junior Corinne Robitaille won the 100, 200, and 400-meter dash. Her twin sister, Julia, won the 1,600-meter run with a time of 5 minutes, 17.12 seconds.

Baseball

Pinkerton 5, Manchester Memorial 1: In Derry, Asa Runge allowed one earned run on four hits and two walks alongside six strikeouts over five innings to earn the win. Richie Marique and Matt Albetski combined for two innings of hitless relief and Brady Day went 2-for-3 with an run scored and an RBI for the Astros (12-4).

Londonderry 14, Trinity 1 (5 inn.): In Londonderry, Dakota Johnson earned the win, allowing one earned run on five hits and one walk alongside five strikeouts. Rick Perry, Shane McNamara and Nate Sullivan each went 2-for-3 for the Lancers (8-8). Perry had three RBIs and three runs scored, McNamara logged four RBIs and a run scored and Sullivan scored two runs. Louis Rosenthall hit an RBI single for Trinity of Manchester (3-11).

Windham 7, Pembroke 0: In Windham, Ryan Faria tossed a no-hitter to lead the Jaguars to the win. He struck out 13 and walked one over 100 pitches. Windham (9-4) received three hits from JoJo Gallo and two each from Zack German and Will McKee. Cole Hapgood drew the lone walk for Pembroke (5-8).

Gilford 17, Franklin 0: In Franklin, Connor Sullivan allowed two hits and struck out three over four innings en route to the win on the mound and went 2-for-3 with three RBIs at the plate. Jack McLean had three hits, Adrian Siravo hit a home run and Tim Gentile had two hits for Gilford (14-0). Franklin dropped to 1-11.

Softball

Londonderry 10, Dover 3: In Londonderry, Ila Brown went 3-for-3 with an RBI at the plate and allowed four hits and one walk alongside 11 strikeouts en route to the win in the circle for the Lancers. Emily Nelson went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and Cassidy Raza and Nina Perry each had two hits for Londonderry.

Pembroke 2, Windham 1: In Windham, Olivia Langevin scored the winning run for Pembroke (12-1) on an Olivia McCarty sacrifice fly to right field. Chloe Carignan scattered five hits and allowed one run en route to the win. Jasmine Moskowitz went 1-for-3 with a run scored at the plate and allowed six hits and two runs in the circle for Windham.

Belmont 15, Inter-Lakes 0 (5 inn.): In Meredith, Belmont scored eight runs in the fourth inning on seven hits. Lizzie Fleming went 3-for-4 and Noel Murphy had two hits for the Red Raiders (10-3), who received at least one hit from 11 of their 12 batters. Morgan Hall earned the win, allowing four hits alongside six strikeouts.

Boys’ lacrosse

Londonderry 20, Nashua North 8: In Londonderry, Mike McAlister, Anthony Federico and Jeff Wiedenfeld each had a hat trick and Ross Carroll made 10 saves for the Lancers (8-6). Troy Bottari logged five goals, Colin Manning scored twice and Todd Redman added a goal and three assists for Nashua North (2-10).

Bedford 15, Salem 2: In Salem, Bedford led, 7-1, at halftime. Nick Gore and Alex Weston both scored and Sebastian Farah made 17 saves for Salem (9-6).

Merrimack Valley 17, Dover 13: In Penacook on Wednesday, Dom Silverio had five goals and three assists and Justin Colizzi also had five goals for Dover (9-3). Teammate Kyle Ferriero added two goals and two assists. Merrimack Valley improved to 8-3.

Girls’ lacrosse

Souhegan 13, Pinkerton 6: In Derry on Wednesday, Lily Auger had a hat trick, Meaghan Michaud scored twice and Lauren Lisauskas had a goal and an assist for Pinkerton (14-1). Dani Martineau made four saves for the Astros. Souhegan of Amherst improved to 13-1.

Derryfield 21, Pelham 10: In Manchester on Wednesday, Lucy Licata logged six goals and four assists and Olivia Strong added five goals and three assists for Derryfield (10-1). Cali Bishop recorded four goals and eight draw controls while Sydney Socha had two goals and two assists for the Cougars.

Boys’ volleyball

Hollis/Brookline 3, Timberlane 2: In Hollis on Wednesday, Jonathan Brackett recorded 32 kills, including the 500th of his career, for the Cavaliers (9-4). Teammate Scott Van Coughnett had 52 assists, setting a program single-match record. Timberlane of Plaistow fell to 11-1.
