MANCHESTER — A man armed with scissors jumped on the counter at a Maple Street convenience store and emptied the cash register while threatening the clerk before fleeing with another man and a child in an SUV, police said Monday.
There were no injuries during the robbery at the 557 Maple St. 7-Eleven about 1:15 a.m. Saturday police said in a release.
The clerk told officers that a man waited in line as if to purchase an item before leaping on the counter brandishing the scissors, according to the release. The clerk described the man as Hispanic, with a thin build, wearing gray sweatpants and white sneakers, police said.
After emptying the register, the man climbed into a gray Mazda CX-7 in the parking lot, where another man who had been in the store with a girl was waiting and drove away, police said.
Police said the second man also was described as Hispanic and wearing glasses.
