Patriots to open season Sept. 9 against Houston

The Patriots will play five prime-time games this season, including a Monday nighter and a Thursday nighter, as the 2018 NFL schedule was announced Thursday.
The season kicks off Sunday, Sept. 9 with a home game against former Pats assistant coach Bill O'Brien and the Houston Texans.
Two road games follow: at fellow AFC finalist Jacksonville on Sept. 16 at 4:25 p.m. and at Detroit, and former Pats defensive coordinator Matt Patricia, on Sept. 23 at 8:20 p.m.
The Pats also have home night games against Indianapolis (Thursday, Oct. 4), Kansas City (Oct. 14) and Green Bay (Nov. 4). New England is at Buffalo for a Monday night contest on Oct. 29.
The season begins on Thursday, Sept. 6 as the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles host the Atlanta Falcons at 8:20 p.m. There are three games in London this season: Seahawks vs. Raiders on Oct. 14 at 1 p.m., Titans vs. Chargers at 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 21, and Eagles vs. Jaguars on Oct. 28 at 9:30 a.m. The Rams will face the Chiefs in Mexico City on Monday, Nov. 19 at 8:15 p.m.
