ORFORD — Fish and Game officers located a Thornton man who had gotten his snowmobile stuck while riding on a trail Thursday afternoon.

Michael Oneil called conservation officer`s at 4 p.m. to ask for help. He was unable to identify the community he was in, but did remember a landmark that was known to one of the conservation officers.

“Around 7:20 p.m., conservation officers located Oneil on his snowmobile near the area at which he had said he was stuck,” Fish and Game said in a news release. “While walking he had come across another snowmobiler who then volunteered to drive Oneil back to his snowmobile and help him get his snowmobile unstuck.”

Fish and Game officials said Oneil got stuck when he drove his machine into an area that was not part of a designated trail.
