Family snowshoe walk planned in Milton Mills

MILTON MILLS - Moose Mountains Regional Greenways and Branch Hill Farm/Carl Siemon Family Charitable Trust are co-sponsoring a Little Trackers Family Snowshoe Walk from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, at Branch Hill Farm, 307 Applebee Road.

The kids' snowshoe tracking activity is part of MMRG's new program of nature-oriented events for member families called MOOSE-ies for Families.

The walk will be led by Emily Lord, stewardship outreach coordinator for the University of New Hampshire Cooperative Extension and a member of MMRG's board of directors, and Middleton Pastor Tom Gardner, who also teaches the Middleton Nature Club after-school program. MMRG staff and volunteers also will help with the walk.

Although designed as a snowshoe activity while looking for animal tracks in the snow, the walk will take place even if snow is scarce. The rain date is Feb. 25 from 1 to 2:30 p.m.

Children of all ages are welcome with their families. Loaner snowshoes for both kids and adults will be available.

The outing is free for members, but preregistration is required. To register or for more information, call MMRG's education coordinator Kari Lygren at 978-7125 or email
