MANCHESTER - Two city residents were arrested while walking in the Maple and Manchester street area Wednesday night after police recognized one of them wanted on a warrant, police said.

Detectives saw Samantha Allen, 33, walking with a man about 10 p.m., and knew she was wanted on a warrant charging her with filing a false report, police said. Allen allegedly threw something on the ground, police said, and officers recovered a small bag containing 1.9 grams of heroin, police said.

Police arrested her on the warrant, and also charged her with possession of a controlled drug and falsifying physical evidence. She was released on $2,000 cash/surety bail and will appear in Manchester circuit court March 5.

James Cassidy, 55, who was with Allen, also was arrested after police said they found a small medicine bottle in his pocket and 16 bags of heroin totaling 3.2 grams during a search.

Cassidy was charged with possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute and was to appear in Hillsborough County Superior Court North on Thursday.
