January 09. 2018 11:35PM

PITTSBURG — A 68-year-old Candia woman suffered serious injuries after crashing her snowmobile into a tree in the area of Indian Stream Road in Pittsburg Tuesday according to Fish and Game officials.

Colette Sandstrom was hurt when her snowmobile collided with trees after she lost control of it while trying to make a turn on the trail at around 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Those passing by the accident made the first emergency call to 911.

Pittsburg Rescue, the 45th Parallel EMS, and Pittsburg Police Chief John LeBlanc all came to the accident scene.

Sandstrom was brought to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon where she is receiving treatment.

At the time of the crash, Sandstrom was wearing a helmet and Fish and Game officials said it does not appear that speed was a contributing factor.
