Hillsborough man hurt in snowmobile crash

HOPKINTON — A 52-year-old Hillsborough man suffered minor injuries Sunday when the snowmobile he was riding accelerated uncontrollably and hit a tree on Corridor 6, state Fish and Game officials said.

According to a release, Darrin Bennett was riding with friends when the accident occurred about 2 p.m. in Washington. His friends took him 3.2 miles out of the woods, where Fish and Game was called when a cell signal was available, the release said.

Bennett, who had been wearing proper equipment, was taken to Concord Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, the release said.
