The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Granite State College, known as OLLI, plans a preview of spring/summer classes at 10 a.m. Friday at Bethany Covenant Church, 1 Covenant Way in Bedford. Refreshments will be served beforehand at 9 a.m.

OLLI is instituting the first of its new consolidated terms. The spring/summer term will run from Feb. 19 through June 15.

Those who attend the preview will be able to pick up the spring/summer catalog in advance to review the offerings in Manchester as well as the OLLI sites in Concord, Conway and on the Seacoast prior to the catalog being mailed to members. Many of the class presenters will give a brief synopsis of their courses.

A total of 190 classes will be offered for the term at the OLLI sites, including 70 in Manchester.

Everyone is welcome to the preview. Nonmembers will be able to apply for membership, and members will be able to renew. Membership is $40 per year.

Registration for classes will not be accepted at the preview. Online and mail registration will begin at 9 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 1.

History, finance, current events, computers, performing arts and personal development are among the areas covered by the classes, which range from Making Civil Rights and Correcting Civil Wrongs: Manchester NAACP to Equifax Calling: We Got Breached! Are You Safe? to Palace Theater Renaissance and Renovation: 100 Years of History.

Outdoor activities and trips also are on the schedule, including a 14-day “Ireland in Depth” trip starting May 10 and a trip to the Portland Maine Symphony Orchestra on April 22.

OLLI is a volunteer, member-led organization that provides lifelong learning opportunities and social activities for people 50 and older. There are 120 OLLIs in colleges and universities across the country, all of which celebrate a commitment to lifelong learning and “learning for the fun of it.”
