CONCORD - State Rep. Howard Pearl has been awarded the honorary rank of major by the New Hampshire Wing of the Civil Air Patrol, the civilian auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force.
The New Hampshire Civil Air Patrol has established a Legislative Wing, which grants membership to state lawmakers and gives them the honorary major rank.
Pearl serves the communities of Loudon, Canterbury, Northfield, Boscawen and Franklin Ward 3 and is a member of the Environment and Agriculture Committee.
"Any New Hampshire state legislative member can join and be part of this great organization dedicated to serving our community, citizens and our country," Lt. Col. Bruce Determann said in a news release.
The nonprofit Civil Air Patrol, or CAP, is responsible for inland search and rescue missions, fire patrol, disaster relief flights and other missions in the state.
