Pearl Harbor ceremony to be held Sunday in Manchester

This Sunday, the Manchester Veterans Council will conduct a 76th anniversary observance in memory of those lost in the sneak attack on Pearl Harbor. The ceremony will be held at Arms Park. Those from the Queen City who perished on that “Day of Infamy” (Dec. 7, 1941) will be honored with the placement of a wreath in the Merrimack River. There will be a three-volley rifle salute, the playing of Taps, and the National Anthem.
Participants will include American Legion Post 2 and Post 79, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8214, the Marine Corps League, and West High School Junior Naval ROTC. Manchester Mayor Ted Gatsas will preside over the event. Units are expected to line up at 11 a.m. sharp.
