It may be Thanksgiving, but Santa Claus is coming to town

Here's a sneak peak of just some of the Thanksgiving weekend events that will launch the Granite State into the holiday season:

Merrimack, Friday: Tree Lighting Ceremony, with music by the Rhythm of New Hampshire Show Chorus, 4-7 p.m., Merrimack Premium Outlets, outside the food court, 80 Premium Outlets Blvd., Merrimack. Free. ID: 6808907.

Concord, Friday: 31st Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration, with petting zoo, horse-drawn wagon rides, pony rides, magic show, music by Brian Waldron and Band. Santa Claus arrives at 5 p.m. Activities begin at 3:30 p.m., City Plaza, 107 N. Main St., Concord in front of State House. Free. ID: 6678393.

Loudon, Friday through Dec. 31: Gift of Lights, featuring more than 60 holiday scenes and 400 light displays around the outside of the track's grandstands, a portion of the NHMS Road Course and a trip through the infield tunnel, 4:30 p.m., New Hampshire Motor Speedway, 1122 Route 106 N., Loudon. $20. 783-4931. Merrimack, Friday through Dec. 30: Brewery Lights. This holiday experience features thousands of seasonal lights, along with beer samples, food and entertainment, 11 a.m.-9 p.m., Anheuser-Busch Brewery, 221 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack.
