Doctor surrenders license after being suspected of working while drunk

November 20. 2017 10:16PM

A Laconia anesthesiologist has agreed to stop practicing medicine, after state officials filed complaints that she showed up to work stumbling, slurring her speech and possibly smelling of alcohol.

Dr. Nancy A. Kressin had her license suspended last week on a temporary basis, according to the New Hampshire Board of Medicine.

Kressin will not practice while the board investigates whether she showed up to work in September impaired, whether she suffers from addiction and whether she failed to report her loss of privileges at Lakes Region General Hospital to the Board of Medicine.

In agreeing to halt her practice of medicine, Kressin admitted to no violations of laws, rules or ethical standards.
