HOLDERNESS — State police say an Ashland man was killed after rolling over his vehicle in snowy conditions on Interstate 93 Thursday morning.
A preliminary investigation indicates a 2007 Ford F-150 driven by John Hughes, 77, was traveling south during just after 9 a.m.
State police said Hughes was attempting to slow down for a vehicle in front of his truck that was also slowing down when he lost control; his vehicle went into the median between the north and southbound lanes, where it rolled over.
Hughes was not wearing a seatbelt, state police said. He was transported to Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth, where he later died.
A passenger, identified by police as Kendall Hughes, 49, also of Ashland, was taken to Speare Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. He was treated and released.
The crash remains under investigation.
