MONT VERNON — A Nashua man who fell while hiking and couldn’t move was found Sunday morning by another hiker in the Purgatory Falls Recreation Area, the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department said.

Sandeep Mishra, 30, was injured around 8 p.m. Saturday, leaving him alone in the dark without a cellphone, cold-weather gear or extra supplies, Fish and Game said in a release Sunday.

Gary Noel of Dracut, Mass., was hiking around 10 a.m. Sunday when he came across Mishra and contacted rescue personnel, according to the release.

Rescuers were able to help lead Mishra from the trail and get him to the hospital, Fish and Game said.
