Try your hand at outdoor autumn fun with Salem bocce festival

SALEM — This weekend Tuscan Kitchen & Market will host their fourth annual Open Bocce Tournament, highlighting the traditional Italian game in which players try to land bocce balls the closest to the smaller target ball, called a pallino.

The round-robin competition will begin at 9 a.m. both Saturday and Sunday at 63-67 Main St., Salem. The awards ceremony will be at 1 p.m. Sunday. Teams are competing for a $1,500 grand prize. Sign-up fee is $100 per team.

There will be complimentary beer and wine tastings during the tournament.
