NHIAA Roundup: Metzger hits milestone in Astros' volleyball win

Pinkerton Academy of Derry accomplished two positive things Monday.
Sara Metzger had 20 assists, including the 1,000th of her career, and the Astros handed Dover its first volleyball loss of the season in a 3-0 decision in Derry.
The Astros (5-1) will hold the tie-breaker against Dover (6-1) should both teams end up in a tie after the regular season for playoff positioning. Pinkerton was also led by Amelia Graves with nine kills and 18 digs) while Megan Hough collected eight kills and three blocks.
Kiley Davis also had eight service points. Hannah Jelley led Dover with 11 service points and one ace. Anna Cartelli added eight service points and one ace.
Londonderry 3, Merrimack 1: In Merrimack, Josie Collins had 11 kills and Maddie Sanborn added 10 for the Lancers. Anna Haas had 25 assists while Sanborn added 14 service points. Collins had 12 service points and Britney Clark added 11 with 14 digs. Collins had three blocks for the 3-4 Lancers.
Campbell 3, Stevens 0: In Litchfield, Campbell was led by Caedran Sullivan with three kills and Mallory Reczko collected four aces, three kills and one dig. Meghan Gibbons had five aces and Olivia Garand contributed eight aces and one kill.
Bishop Guertin 3, Timberlane 0: Julia Pascucci collected 14 assists and five aces in the win. Rita Dow had nine kills and Mariana Gomez collected five aces, three kills and 14 digs. Neena Vassil added four kills and two aces.
Hollis/Brookline 3, Winnacunnet 0: In Hampton, Hollis/Brookline (5-0) was led by Kaleigh Whalen (five kills), Natalie Cook (three kills), Ashley Burtt (three kills) and Kenzie Powers with 18 assists.
Windham 8, Hollis/Brookline 0: In Windham, the Jaguars (6-1) were led by Kate Blaisdell with four goals and Taryn Livingston, who added one goal and three assists. Maddi Connelly had one goal along with Devon Hamilton (first varsity career point) and Anna Desjardin added three assists.
Londonderry 9, Nashua South 2: In Londonderry, the Lancers led 4-1 at halftime. Vanessa Magoon had two goals, assisted by Maeve McPhail and Krista Fletcher while Lauren Doherty, assisted by Katelyn Meuse and, Julia Fothergill tallied the other first-half goals. In the second half, Londonderry goals were posted by Allie Marsh and Katelyn Meuse, both assisted by Krista Fletcher, and Olivia Ward and Alivia Proulx, both unassisted. Marsh scored the last Londonderry goal, assisted by Chase Vanini. Liz Harrington and Kristin McIntire scored for South.
Derryfield 3, Kingswood 0: In Wolfeboro, Derryfield (6-0) was led by Lindsey Stagg with two goals, both assisted by Anna Welch. Stagg assisted on the second goal by Maggie Cissel. Against the 4-2 Knights, Derryfield goalie Isabel Plotsker (one save) was supported in front by defenders Holly Rohlff, Bella Matarese and the forechecking play of Tori Sipes.
Sanborn 1, Goffstown 0 (OT): In Goffstown, Grizzlies goalkeeper Mackenzie Potvin had one save. Sanborn’s goalkeeper Alexandra Gannon had five saves.
Bishop Guertin 2, Merrimack 0: In Nashua, freshman Lindsay Hult, assisted by McKenna Gosselin, scored her first career goal six minutes into the first half off the first penalty corner of the game. Gosselin, from Sarah Coyle, added an insurance goal with just under three minutes left. Heather Rohr had 16 saves for Merrimack and BG keeper Makena Leazer collected seven saves. BG is 7-0.
Pinkerton 5, Keene 0: In Keene, Emma Davis led the Astros with two goals. Lacey Cheney, Meg Michaud and Carly Young each added a goal. Young and Ava Dorci each had an assist while goalie Khaliyah Ellis had three saves. Pinkerton is 6-0.
Gilford 8, White Mountains 0: In Gilford, Brianna Salanitro registered her hat trick in the first half. The Golden Eagles (7-1) have beaten their last three opponents — Laconia, Franklin and White Mountains — by 8-0 scores. Salanitro scored the game’s first two goals in the first 15 minutes and added her last one just before halftime expired. Laurel Gingrich also scored in the first half.
Sydney Lehr opened the second half with two goals while Kellie Ryan and freshman Allison Carr, who tallied her first varsity goal, closed out the scoring.
Epping 9, Farmington 0: In Epping, Evelyn Carleton and Evika Toth each scored twice for the Blue Devils. Casey Needham had one goal and two assists. Ashlyn Vensel also tallied twice and Jenna Needham had one goal and two assists. Jenna Lavoie chipped in a goal and an assist.
