LINCOLN — The Hobo Railroad’s Hobo Harvest Time Express returns to the Hobo Junction Station on Route 112 for excursions Saturday through Oct. 15.

As part of the railroad’s fall celebration, the Hobo Farm Yard will be filled with games, including pumpkin bowling, horse shoes, sack races, croquet and corn hole. Plus, five antique tractors from the Presby Transportation Museum in Whitefield will be on view.

New this year is a farm stand stocked with New Hampshire-made products, as well as pumpkins from the Moulton Farm in Meredith.

The fall foliage train excursions last an hour and 20 minutes round trip and travel along the Pemigewasset River between Lincoln and Woodstock.

Departure times are 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. daily, with 3 p.m. trains available on Sept. 23 and 30 and Oct. 1, 7, 8, 14 and 15. Cost is $20 for adults and $15 for children ages 3 to 11; it’s free for ages 2 and under.

Hobo Railroad’s life-sized scarecrows — made by Annalee Doll Co. and known as “Cornstalk Critters” — will be on display between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. daily. This year’s theme is “Scarecrows of Sports.” Characters include NHL hockey legend Bobby Orr from the Boston Bruins; 12-time NBA All Star Larry Bird from the Boston Celtics; home run record-setter David Ortiz from the Boston Red Sox; five-time NFL Super Bowl winner Tom Brady from the New England Patriots; seven-time NASCAR Champion Richard Petty; World Champion Heavyweight Boxer Muhammad Ali and his flamboyant boxing promoter Don King; and Olympic and World Cup ski racer and multi-time Gold Medalist Bode Miller from Franconia.
