MANCHESTER — Police Chief Nick Willard announced this week that trick-or-treating in Manchester will take place on Halloween, Tuesday, Oct. 31, from 6-8 p.m.

For decades, Manchester allowed trick-or-treating on the Sunday before Halloween, during daylight hours. Police said they did so for safety’s sake.

In 2010, then Police Chief David Mara changed the trick-or-treating hours to take place on Halloween instead, during the early evening.

The designated hours for trick-or-treating are set by the police chief under the City of Manchester Code of Ordinances/Title III: Administration, Chapter 31.15.
